John Hillen

Chief Executive Officer
John Hillen founded Direct Source in 1992. What started as two employees and a rented office, now comprises two locations, totaling more than 75,000 square feet, with nearly 100 full-time corporate headquarter employees.

Prior to starting Direct Source, John worked for Spectra-Physics – now Datalogic – where he was the company's first direct sales representative and international sales manager for handheld scanners. While at Datalogic, John helped create the first scanner/scale product for the retail grocery market and participated on the Food Marketing Institute Ergonomics Committee. Work also included ESCO, where he spearheaded Middle Eastern sales efforts as well as tooling equipment sales to European aerospace manufacturers.

John received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Marquette University, and a master’s degree in international management from Thunderbird School of Global Management. 


Brad Fick

Brad Fick leads the company’s business and sales operations, with a focus on helping tier-one retailers maintain a competitive edge. Since 1998, Brad’s leadership has been instrumental in driving business growth through identifying emerging retail industry trends, staying ahead of the latest mobile technology, and refining integration best practices. He also oversees the company’s deployment and installation services for retail locations across North America.
Prior to his current role, Brad served as vice president of sales and marketing at Direct Source. With multiple years of operational management, sales force automation, marketing, product management and sales experience, he has also held retail and technology leadership positions at CWC INC, NCR Corporation and Dataserv, Inc.

Brad earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and sales from the University of Northern Iowa.
