PMO Manager

Areas of Responsibility and Accountability will include:
  • Lead PMs and PCs in the usage of project management framework to achieve project objectives of delivering business results including on time and on budget delivery.
  • Cultivate, support, and promote an organizational culture that provides for high performance, high morale, integrity, teamwork and work-life balance.
  • Ensure project delivery processes are utilized and coach team on defining project scope definition and issue identification and handling.
  • Confirm successful project implementation, completing all project phases and closure activities.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to refine project and program management methodology for delivery of client initiatives, including Project Governance processes, standard tools & templates, risk management, and project/program status communications.
  • Responsible for resolution of escalated issues.
  • Monitor project delivery success; measure and work with teams to take corrective action as needed.
  • Act as a resource for PMO queries and information; serves as an advocate for best practices in project management.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices, build relationships with key stakeholders across all departments.
  • Develop, implement and manage project planning process, work plans and activity schedules to meet project objectives; initiate, drive and facilitate all required project start-up activities.
  • Build and maintain customer relations and communicates with customers throughout all phases of the project.
  • Coordinate project specific activities of internal and external resources; delegate workflow and assists in determining priorities.
  • Monitor project status and data and conduct post-project reviews.
  • Lead internal, customer and vendor project meetings.
  • Potential for travel up to 25% annually.
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruitment; conduct interviews, make hiring decisions, and establish training for new staff.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching on project specific tasks as well as individual professional development.  Collaborate with staff to establish goals and objectives; conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Provide the appropriate people management, development and leadership that will result in growth, accountability, efficiency and strengthened customer relations.
  • Build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff and co-workers.
 We are looking for someone who has:
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in project planning, implementation and management and collaboration with organizational partners preferred.
  • Excellent time and project management and related organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects, adjust to changing workflow and workload accordingly.
  • Must be highly motivated and versatile, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise discretion, demonstrate sound judgment, participate as an effective team member, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to express ideas and information (both in written and oral form) clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience.
  • Ability to be accountable for quality customer service and respond appropriately to a variety of personalities and situations.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
